What a clever and engaging story! How can we like a demon? Abigail shows us. Give him a thousand years, or half a millenium, he just might come around. His 'change of heart' is intriguing. I wouldn't have *the heart* (er, audacity) to send a synopsis of this story to a publisher, thinking it sounds too implausible, yet Abigail spins the story and brings the demon to life, making me believe. Not sure how this runs counter to Maureen Dowd's story, but if contests inspire tales like Abigail's, bring 'em on!
