About Christine SunderlandClose
Christine grew up in the San Francisco Bay Area and graduated from San Francisco State University Cum Laude with a BA in English Literature. She attended the Squaw Valley Workshop and the Maui Writers Retreat where she studied under the acclaimed novelist Jane Hamilton.

Having spent considerable time in Italy, France, and England, she developed a keen interest in history, the ability of the individual to change events, and the power of belief. In her stories, she brings to life the effect of the past upon the present, the puzzle of perception, and the mystery of time. She is also fascinated by the miracles of life and the pleasures of the senses.

Christine reviews for Catholicfiction.net, and writes for the Christian Post and American Christian Fiction Writers. She serves currently as Managing Editor for the American Church Union (www.AmericanChurchUnion.com). All of Christine's proceeds go to children's charities.

Christine's trilogy of Western Europe includes: Pilgrimage (OakTara 2007), set in Italy, a story of grief and healing; Offerings (OakTara 2009), set in France, a story of trust and faith; Inheritance (OakTara 2009), set in England, a story of life and belief. Her fourth novel, Hana-lani (OakaTara 2010), takes place in Hawaii and explores the demands of love and T.S. Eliot's "permanent questions," what is truth, goodness and love?

Christine's most recent release, The Magdalene Mystery, a quest set in Rome and Provence, is about the search for the true Mary Magdalene, truth and lies in the media, and New Testament scholarship (OakTara 2013).

Christine is currently working on a novel about the borders between civilization and the wilderness, The Fire Trail.
