Fred has been active in sci-fi podcasting for over 10 years. He has contributed to the Hugo Award-winning StarShipSofa podcast as reviewer, narrator, and songwriter, and edited its sister podcast Protecting Project Pulp. He is also a recurring guest on the SFF Audio podcast.

Fred's fiction can be found at Every Day Fiction and Liberty Island. His first novel, "The Devil's Dictum", will appear in September 2015. It is an alternate history where the United States was founded by Satan-worshiping pirates. The Pilgrims get Haiti as a consolation prize. Richard Nixon pilots a giant armored robot.

Fred's music includes the filk tune "Abraham Lincoln Was an Invader from Space", found on YouTube, as well as numerous choral works. His latest premiere was performed by the San Francisco Choral Artists in June of 2015.

Fred lives a pulp fiction life -- vampires in the attic, trolls in the basement, aliens on the front lawn; that sort of thing -- and his wife and children share uneasily in the experience in Ann Arbor, Michigan. Yes, that Ann Arbor: the next time he sees a Lexus with an Occupy Wall Street bumper sticker, he will definitely let you know.
